What causes rosacea?
Rosacea runs in families and commonly affects women with fair skin. But rosacea is ultimately a condition caused by triggers. Sunlight and hairspray are common rosacea triggers. Other common triggers include heat, stress, alcohol, and spicy foods. Typically, rosacea affects the skin on the nose, cheeks, and forehead. Rosacea flare-ups can occur in cycles, with symptoms for weeks or months at a time, the symptoms will go away, then return.
